The Haunted Garden #1: It Begins

It waits

And it begins, another season. This series of Blog posts are for Gardeners, Art lovers, Paranormal enthusiasts, Ghost Hunters and Nature lovers.  It is the story of my haunted, yes HAUNTED Garden. Much of its bounty will end up portrayed in my artworks as I only paint flowers and plant life which I grow or care for, and many of those pieces of art will carry a weight of mystery and intrigue to be unknowingly and innocently enjoyed by most, and possibly obsessed over by those who are more intuitive, who have the “shine”.

I hope to share my knowledge of gardening, which I still do as a profession along with my Art, to teach and enhance everyone’s gardening experience, and also tell a story,  a true story about what can come forth from the soil,  both beautiful and sometimes nefarious.  Terra Firma or Terror Firma,  from April till  the chilling conclusion on All Hallows Eve, every year an intriguing mystery seems to unfold.  I have survived up till now but this written record serves to explain what may happen to me…Just in case… we will see what the 2016 haunted Garden brings…

The Haunted Garden Early April 2016, Work begins:  I work seasonally as a professional gardener (along with my Art business), my time in my own garden this year has more meaning than ever. This week I have started on the basic layout and design, the placing of pots and basic borders.

You may see last years Mayan Garden Snake still guards as a border around the soil. The Pots are all placed with a few left to go. They will be home to both Flowers and vegetables. I will explain and instruct in their planting and care as time plays out. Container gardening is a wonderful option for those with less space.

I have high hopes for the Pumpkins this year as I have let 5 from last year remain through this dark and cold winter in the ground, waiting, for not much longer, to rise again. I will not actually plant any of the haunted Mayan Corn seed this year, (Their  story will appear here later) however I did leave a few seed filled Cobs in the soil over the winter. Have I tempted fate again? Will they spring forth, and if so, what may befall this Terra Firma as a result? We will find out I am sure.

You may see in the pictures below the Amityville Barn casting its long mysterious shadow.  The rubber duck garden mascot with his Pumpkin carving knife ready, ready for All Hallows Eve, or whatever may transpire before… and finally, yes, no sooner did I start work,  and the Black Cats came, again, from nowhere, to also enjoy, or perhaps…well enjoy lets just say, the colorful and bountiful Garden adventures to come.

What will transpire here I know not, It may be sinister but will always be beautiful as well. It is OK to be scared. You will soon realize what an adventure gardening can be!
